ISBN number:

Published by: Golden Duck UK Ltd. in paperback

This is far from a straightforward cruise log: part diary, part biography, part naval history. The timing may be unique: having sailed up the German coast and passed through the Kiel Canal, the heroine ends her three-week voyage at Grimsby on Saturday 2nd September 1939, the day before the Second World War began.

Reflections of a circumnavigator, Speaker: Helen Jones

Tue, 14/03/2017 - 19:15

Helen left a career in the city in 2013, to set sail and circumnavigate the globe, in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. The 44,469-mile journey was an 11-month marathon. Fewer people have raced a yacht around the world than have climbed Mount Everest. In an environment both physically and mentally challenging, the crew dynamics on-board were a fascinating insight into the human psyche. Find out more about what it really takes to sail around the world.

Corinthian Rallies in USA and Europe.

The talk will revisit the the 2016 Channel Islands and other cruises with our American collegues, the Corinthians. In 2016 we started in Cherbourg, France, then the cruise visited most of the Channel Islands and we had a spectacular celebration at Castle Cornet, Guernsey, on the 4th July - we hired the whole castle!
