Clipper Round the World Race Blog

A message from Sylvia, an LSC member participating in the Clipper Round the World Race 2016:

As some of you will know I am taking part in the Clipper race on GREAT Britain and Northern Ireland boat. UNICEF is the official charity for the race and each boat is aiming to raise £20,000.

I have set up a JustGiving page and this is the link:

Please make a donation, however small.

If you wish to read about some of the work that UNICEF is doing around the world and with Clipper, you can start here:

www.UNICEF.org.uk, and

Team GB & NI will be doing other fundraising for UNICEF as we sail the world. As we face 80 ft waves, 50 knot winds, limited sleep and life at a 45 degree angle, one of the things that will keep us going will be a cup of tea! We expect our team to get through 4,000 tea bags during the race and are aiming to raise the same amount in pounds for UNICEF. The plan is that in each port in exchange for a donation to UNICEF, visitors will have a tour of the boat with tea in our plastic cups and scones on our plastic plates! It’s all part of the experience!

You can support our Tea4Life fundraising at: www.justgiving.com/tea4life or by texting 70070 with the code GBNI72.

Please follow our race and wish us luck!

LSC will be following Sylvia as she sails in legs 4 & 5 of the race from Albany in Western Australia to Qingdao in China.
