London Member (L)

Members living or working within the M25, and are aged 40 years plus as of 1 November, pay the full subscription and have full access to the Club and training as mentioned above. For boat owners, the Club is a rich pool of crew who are either well qualified or in RYA training. You get the chance to meet potential crew at the bar before offering new crew a berth – something you cannot do easily with purely web-based crew search services. For non-boat owners, if you compare the cost of a year’s subscription with a week’s charter on the Solent, then being part of our sailing community is a very good value way of getting onto the water. However, nothing is guaranteed; it is usually members who engage fully with the Club - by regularly attending Club nights and getting to know the skippers - who get to crew for them on a regular basis. The Club is mainly a cruising club with some racing teams and this is reflected in our current sailing programme.

Country Member (C)

Members living or working outside the M25 aged 40 years plus as of 1 November.  “If I live and work outside the M25, why would I want to join a London-based club?” It may surprise you to know that we have just as many country members as we do London members. Our country members like to use the Clubhouse, especially the cabins, as a ‘home from home’ when visiting London. Many sail on the South and East coast so can easily join in our UK rallies.

UK Family Discount

If you sail as a family, then we can offer a discount to two directly related adults living at the same address and their children under 21 (if applicable). The subscription rate is 150% of the highest member's rate and is available for full membership rates only.

Overseas Member (OM)

As the name suggests, overseas members have their main residence outside the UK. Sometimes London or country members move abroad and wish to keep their link with the Club. Others may visit the UK regularly and wish to have a base in London or join in Club events. Each year, the Club organises a number of rallies abroad so sometimes we come to you!

Senior Members (SM)

Members who have been with the club for 10 years continuously and aged over 67 at November 1st qualify for a reduced membership rate.  Please contact the Membership Secretary if you qualify and wish to switch to Senior Member rate.

Students (S)

For students under 30 and in full-time education, we offer a reduced subscription for the period of study and no joining fee. ID is required.

Social Partner (P)

Perhaps your partner prefers the landside events to being on the water. If so, they may subscribe as a social partner and join in the fun off the water. Available to full UK members’ partners only.

Overseas Partner (POM)

Partners of overseas members may subscribe at an overseas partner’s rate.

Relatives under age 18 (CH)

Children and grandchildren of full members can join the Club for free. So if you sail with your son or daughter and would like them to join in the Club’s activities, we offer this option. Each year, we organise at least one event which is focused on the under 18s.
