Squadron Leader Shaun Pascoe was an Emergency Nurse in the Royal Air Force. He has served on operational tours in Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Iraq and has completed four tours in Afghanistan as Officer Commanding of the Medical Emergency Response Team. Their task was to extract injured soldiers from point of wounding using the Chinook helicopter effectively bringing the Emergency Department to their unique patient group. The success of this initiative in terms of speed and clinical interventions is unprecedented; we are the only country to have the capability.

The Lord Mayor's Show is one of the best-known annual events in London as well as one of the longest-established, dating back to the 16th century. Join us at the Club for breakfast as the Flotilla goes past, pop into town to watch the procession, then come back for a delicious lunch in the Club. Di Murrell worked her barges, bringing up her two sons on the water with her husband, travelling across England carrying sand, grain, coal, barrels of lime. They have also extensively travelled the waterways of Europe in their Dutch motor barge. During this time, her interest in good food afloat has never wavered.
In thinking about Bagheera's 2017 cruise, it occurred to Club member David Clements that the only stretch of the British coastline that he hadn't sailed in his Bowman 40 was from Ramsgate to Inverness. It seemed time that this was remedied but of course it meant getting there and back from Dartmouth and so the cruise became a circumnavigation. David's talk will cover the trip as it unfolded.
