UPDATE    More information about the rally will be available at the Club on Tuesday 11th July at the CARIBBEAN EVENING

Dates:  We have settled on a 10 day cruise from Wednesday 8th November to Sunday 19th.

Itinerary :  Will be optional.  You can follow the group or strike out on your own.  We will start and finish in Road Town, the capital of Tortola. In between we hope to visit Cooper Island, Virgin Gorda Island, Marina Cay, Cane Garden Bay, Great Harbour and The Bight.Easy.  It will be  gentle sailing for those who just want to chill. For those who prefer more of a thrill,  the will be the opportunity to visit  the more distant islands in the area. More details will follow. . Watch this space.

Charterers: Sunsail is our preferred charterer in the area.   They have just extended their offer and are holding 4 more boats for us.  Click here for details.   They are offering us 15% discount and I attach a list of prices and details of other incentives they are offering.  Click here for details. Please contact Laura Bowtell ( or Yasmin Dookun ( )      Contact them direct to reserve a boat.

Fun: We are not planning a formal social programme – just a party at the start and a dinner at the end. In between will be informal and spontaneous. We can all meet up in certain restaurants or we can scatter and anchor alone in secluded bays.  I am concocting a competition that I hope will require very little effort, but should be very enjoyable.

Getting there: BA does flights from Gatwick to Antigua and LIAT fly from Antigua to Tortola. BA are are running a sale during January.  They fly direct to Antigua from Gatwick and their January Sale is now on.  Flights out are day flights arriving about 3 pm  in Antigua.  The local airlines (Liat and Inter Caribbean)  do not open for bookings until 6 months prior to the flight date.   There has been talk of Sunsail  arranging to charter  a plane for us.  I will let you know if this is likely to be a viable proposition .

The area is listed in “Fifty Places to Sail before you Die” and described as Easy Comfortable and Beautiful. Who would not want that in November! Let me know if you are giving it some serious thought.
