Invitation to Join Maldon Little Ship Club

to Celebrate their 90th Anniversary

at Royal Harwich Yacht Club on Saturday 1st July 2017

Following successful joint Rallies in recent years with MLSC we have been invited to join them with their 90th year celebration at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club. These informal celebrations take the form of a barbeque at R.H’s new club house and lawns on the banks of the River Orwell on the East Coast. Royal Harwich is one of the oldest clubs in Britain. The history of the club can be found at royalharwichyachtclub.co.uk/club-information/history-of-the-club.  The passage to the event takes skippers and crews through Harwich Harbour past the commercial docks at Felixstowe with the latest technology loading and unloading 250,000 ton ships daily and then past picturesque Pin Mill one of the oldest haunts of sailors of traditional craft through the centuries with many traditional boats still moored on the river. A feast for the eye and photographic enthusiasts.

About the Rally

The cost of the Barbeque is £15.00 per head

8oz Butchers Burger

2 Butchers Sausages

1 chicken Drumstick

Royal Harwich Yacht Club has its own pontoons, once numbers are known together with yacht details Kevin Knox of MLSC will liaise with their berthing officer to secure appropriate berths. Numbers must be given to Royal Harwich for both the barbeque and the boats attending by Friday 23rd June. RH advise that once numbers for the barbeque are committed refunds cannot be given should weather prevent attendance. Berthing fees will be for the individual skippers to settle.

As RHYC have a well stocked bar with lawns leading down to the pontoons there is no official pontoon party this year. However in true MLSC and LSC style unofficial gatherings in cockpits and pontoons are a given.
