RYA Coastal Skipper practical
The RYA Coastal Skipper is an advanced 5 day skippering course for yachtsmen and women who have considerable knowledge of sailing and navigation and are usually aspiring towards a Certificate of Competence.
Coastal Skippers should be able to undertake more difficult passages by day and by night and handle the yacht in more demanding situations. The course consists of skippered passages by each of the trainees in a whole variety of situations.
The Club does not provide practical courses, but special arrangements have been made with sea schools on the East and South Coasts offering discounted rates to members. The East Anglian Sea School is based on the River Orwell. Team Sailing is based on the Solent.
