Check those portholes!

We have just returned from a delightful weekend at Haslar marina, the highlight of which was a visit to the Mary Rose exhibition in Portsmouth's historic dockyard. There are many theories about why Henry VIII's favourite ship floundered and sank, but one contributing factor is almost certainly that she turned quickly and heeled causing her lower open gunports to become submerged, quickly flooding her lower decks. With all this hot weather we are having, please remember to check and close your portholes before setting sail.
