The next meeting of the Old Salts’ lunch club for long-serving members of the Little Ship Club is being held on Thursday 23rd October 2025. Focused on those members with 25 years of membership of the Little Ship Club, and there are currently two lunch meetings held each year to give older members an opportunity to catch up with old friends and renew past acquaintances.

Lou Clayton is a very experienced  British sailor from Norfolk, currently living and working as a physiotherapist, sailmaker, and skipper/race coach on the South Coast. 

She volunteered on the round the world yacht 'Steinlager' in New Zealand and from that experience has become an accomplished trans ocean skipper.

She primarily sails double-handed or with crews, taking on longer offshore races such as the Round Britain and Ireland race. In 2022, she won the 45-strong double-handed fleet at the St. Malo race and was selected from eight teams to compete in the 2024 Double-Handed World Championship.

Louise is also a sailmaker and will be talking about sails from a base of real experience covering all the key things that matter so much to us all :
