Beating of Retreat 2015

The Pinstriped Highlanders – the pipers of the Highland Society of London who play every year for the Highland Ball at the Banqueting House, Whitehall - will beat retreat for the Little Ship Club. This event will take place by arrangement of our Commodore, Michael Forbes Smith, who is one of their members.
Following the first course, the pipers will play on the Thames Pathway, followed we hope by a lowering of the Colours by a small detachment from URNU. Following Colours, the second course will be served, after which there will be time to relax at the bar, meet the Commodore’s fellow pipers and bring the evening to a convivial close.

Sea-Changers - followed by General Sir Mike Jackson after dinner

Helen Webb and Rachel Lopata, both divers, saw first-hand the impact of climate change, pollution, unsustainable fishing, and plastic litter - leading to 'changing seas'. Their response to the changing seas was the founding of a marine conservation charity: Sea-Changers. They will explain why they were inspired to take action and we can all make a difference to the seas’ future. The Big Marine Quiz will take you on a voyage of discovery!
