Club Night Talk: Keeping Our Heritage Alive and Open Evening
Tonight's talk will be given by Jane Percival, Commodore of the Thames Vintage Boat Club.
Jane’s career as a retail manager based on the south coast allowed her to start sailing and she was bitten by the bug.
After co-owning several Classic day boats & Yachts, her career took her to the Thames where she consequently became involved with the Thames Vintage Boat Club & The Association of Dunkirk Little Ships.
After retiring from her career, Jane has worked in a Boatyard that specialises in restoring rare National Historic craft and Dunkirk Little Ships.
She has been a Flag Officer and Commodore of the TVBC during the last 20 years and is Editor of their Club Magazine, The Boater.
This presentation gives a detailed insight into the restoration of a rare J Class Yacht Tender, her research to unearth a missing Dunkirk Little Ship and what it’s like to take part in a ‘Return to Dunkirk ‘ with the ADLS fleet.
