Thames Trafalgar Race 2019 - CANCELLED

This year's race is unfortunately now cancelled as only four boats have booked.
Next year's race will take place on September 26th & 27th. 2020.
The 2019 Thames Trafalgar Race will take place on the weekend of Saturday 21st September and Sunday 22nd September.
This two-day stage race gives sailors an opportunity to tackle the fickle tides and winds of the River Thames, starting from Blackwall Reach, near Greenwich and finishing at Erith Yacht Club on day one. After a dinner on Saturday night paying respect to Horatio Lord Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar, stage two sees the race return upriver to Greenwich.

LIMEHOUSE MOORINGS - SPECIAL OFFER FOR RACE COMPETITORS
Moorings are available at Limehouse Basin Marina from Thursday 19th September until Saturday 28th September
The discounted rates for competitors is £70 per boat for the week after the race and £27.50 per boat per night for the two days before the race.
Spaces are limited so please book directly with Limehouse Basin Marina as soon as possible.
NOTICE OF RACE
ORGANISATION: This race will be organised by Erith Yacht Club and Little Ship Club. Entry limited to first 40 boats only – don't delay!
Eligibility: The race is open to any yacht with a Byron handicap system – if you don't already have one, email the race organisers (email@example.com) and we will let you know how to apply.
The race is in two parts, run over two days
1. Saturday 21st September
A Class Start Blackwall Reach – ovens bouy (S) – Erith YC Not Before 08.00hrs
B Class Start Blackwall Reach – Black shelf (S) – Erith YC Not Before 08.00hrs
2. Sunday 22nd September
A+B Class Start Erith Yacht Club – Blackwall Reach - Not before 11.00hrs
Rules and sailing instructions
The races to be governed by the racing rules of sailing 2017-2020 (RRS) and subject to the Port of London Authority bylaws. The sailing instructions may contain modifications to the RRS, and will be available online closer to the race on the website of Erith Yacht Club and Little Ship Club.
Handicap and scoring system
Results will be calculated using the Byron handicap system, from the aggregate of corrected times from both race legs.
Fee: There is a race fee £25 per boat.

Once you have entered your yacht, bookings for meals can be made subsequently.
- Race briefing will be held at the Little Ship Club on Friday 20th September 2019 at 19.30. At least one member of the crew from each boat entered must attend the race briefing.
- Moorings and dinner will be available at Erith Yacht Club on the evening of Saturday 21st September 2019
- Prize-giving will be held at Little Ship Club on Friday 27th September 2019 at 19.30
