Helen Webb and Rachel Lopata, both divers, saw first-hand the impact of climate change, pollution, unsustainable fishing, and plastic litter - leading to 'changing seas'. Their response to the changing seas was the founding of a marine conservation charity: Sea-Changers. They will explain why they were inspired to take action and we can all make a difference to the seas’ future. The Big Marine Quiz will take you on a voyage of discovery! It will test your knowledge of the seas as sailors, and sea lovers but also explore of some of the key marine conservation issues facing the seas over the twenty years.

At dinner, we are privileged to be joined by General Sir Mike Jackson.  General Mike is one of the most distinguished and best known soldiers of his generation - rising to become Chief of the General Staff, the Head of the Army.  He will be joining us for dinner along with the other members of the C'tee for Military Education in Universities (COMEC) of which he is President, COMEC is the governing body for University Naval Units, Army Officer Training Corps and Air Squadrons - and we at the Little Ship club have a longstanding and very active relationship with the London University Royal Naval Unit (URNU), based at HMS President in Wapping.  COMEC will have been at their AGM at HMS President and are joining us for supper.  General Mike has offered to speak for 15 to 20 mins after supper on the general world situation - and take questions.  Needless to say strict 'Chatham House Rules' will apply!

Please come and join us for what will be a unique evening - with both the Sea Changers and General Jackson.
