Helen left a career in the city in 2013, to set sail and circumnavigate the globe, in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. The 44,469-mile journey was an 11-month marathon. Fewer people have raced a yacht around the world than have climbed Mount Everest. In an environment both physically and mentally challenging, the crew dynamics on-board were a fascinating insight into the human psyche.
