French Evening

Make the Thames the Seine with French food, music and some great bonhomie in the Club on Tuesday 7 June. Although we have no lecture that evening the Club will be open and serving a Gallic-themed menu alongside a corking quiz - win a bottle of wine!

Although there is no lecture this Tuesday evening the Club will be open as usual. Come and enjoy the summer sun by the Thames, catch up with other Club members, peruse the library and enjoy a few drinks before Club Supper.

We are the Club that taught James Bond, so what better way to be part of the 007 legacy than a cocktail or two at the Commodore's annual soirée?

Sunsail / Moorings at LSC and Gin Tasting

On Tuesday 3 May we will be having a presentation by Sunsail / Moorings on yacht chartering around the world.
Learn about the special offers to LSC members for worldwide yacht charter and holidays, and also the possibility of a cruise in the British Virgin Islands next year.
There will also be an opportunity to sample CHILGROVE handcrafted Dry Gin

90 Glorious Years

HRH Queen Elizabeth II was born the year the Club was founded, so to mark these two special birthdays we are planning a Club supper evening with a difference. This will follow the Corinthians Channel Island Cruise briefing.

Channel Islands/Corinthians Cruise 2016 briefing

Presentation on the forthcoming Channel Islands Cruise with the Corinthians and the North Brittany Cruise.
The organising committees will provide an overview of the Channel Islands Cruise and the North Brittany cruises in July. This session will be particularly relevant for participants in the cruise but skippers, in particualr, are urged to attend. The presentation is also open to all members who would like to hear about sailing in this part or the world.

Ireland to Starboard, Speaker: David Clements

After having been twice up the west coast of Ireland as far as Inishbofin, and twice up and down the Irish Sea coast, it seemed natural to Club member David Clements to complete the circumnavigation of Ireland. He made this trip from Dartmouth to Dartmouth, in 2015 in Bagheera of Whitby, a Bowman 40, in seven weeks with the only navigational instruction being “keep Ireland to Starboard!”

New Developments in Life-saving Equipment, Speaker: Martin Barling

Martin Barling, director at ADEC, will demonstrate such products as LED flares, AIS /DSC man-overboard units, smaller and more user friendly EPIRBS as well as lifejackets and life rafts, and compare their effectiveness as life-savers on small craft.
