Club Night - Shanties Evening - Tuesday 18November 2025

Book now for the 2025 LSC Shanties evening on 18 November! We've had to turn people away in previous years!
Led by Mark Turvey and compered by Michael Forbes Smith, the evening features Shanties and Sea Songs - many for you to sing; some for you to be entertained by; general frivolity, a three course seafaring dinner washed down with a tot of rum; and a great deal of banging on tables.
We're joined by a small group of singers that Mark puts together, by the Donkey Riders Shanty singers and this year by shanty enthusaists from the Rona Sailing Trust.
Come and sing, or come and bang a spoon on the table! Bring a guest! Join us for the LSC's 14th Annual Shanties evening!
This year, a cash collection will be taken for the Mission to Seafarers. The Shanties evening has raised a little over £4,500 for Help for Heroes over previous years.
Proceedings will start promptly at 19:15.
If you have a song to sing or a nautical rhyme or ditty to recite, then please let the organiser know.
Book early - our last two Shanties Evenings sold out!

Club Night - International Seakeepers Society - Tuesday 30th Sept 2025

SeaKeepers promotes oceanographic research, conservation, and education by working with privately owned yachts as platforms for at-sea study. Through the support of the yachting community, we enable sailors to take full advantage of their unique potential to advance marine sciences and raise awareness of global ocean issues.
Join us for an evening of extraordinary ocean stories and scientific impact. We will share the voyages of some of our vessels around the world illustrating how anyone can contribute to ocean science and be part of the adventure. From those you know, such as Mike Golding OBE, President of the Little Ship Club and SeaKeepers DISCOVERY Yacht TRAVERSE, who spent 16 months exploring remote corners of the world in support of ocean science; to Ella Hibbert who is making history in a world-first solo circumnavigation of the Arctic Circle, showcasing the impact of climate change on one of the planet’s most fragile ecosystems; to current members of the Little Ship Club who are collecting valuable data across our UK coastlines.
