Guernsey Marina Update: Fees, Fuel & Pilotage
Submitted by David Mitchison on Fri, 13/02/2026 - 07:57There is not a great deal to report from Guernsey, but a few practical updates may be of interest.
Some of the pontoons in the QE2 Marina have recently been upgraded. Although this marina is primarily used by locally based boats, visiting yachts are occasionally permitted to berth there at the discretion of marina staff.
Marina fees have risen. The current daily rate is £46 for vessels between 10 and 11.99 metres, and £53 for those between 12 and 13.99 metres. Electricity is charged separately at £3 per day. That said, I have heard positive comments suggesting marina staff are now more accommodating than in previous seasons.
Diesel remains duty free and is currently around 85p per litre, which continues to make Guernsey an attractive stop from a fuel perspective.
Guernsey Marinas now participate in the Passeport Escales scheme. A number of UK marinas are also members, allowing eligible berth holders to enjoy reciprocal free nights within the network.
For anyone planning to explore the waters around Guernsey, Herm and Sark, it is strongly recommended to obtain the updated pilotage guides by John Frankland: Sark – A Boating Guide and Herm Island – A Boating Guide. These are available from local chandleries and online via guernseypilotage.sumupstore.com.
