There’s nothing especially dramatic to report from South Brittany as we move into 2026, but preparations are well under way. Jean-Michel is working alongside Anne Billard to organise the LSC Centennial Rally in the Morbihan next July, which promises to be a fitting gathering in a wonderful cruising area.

In July, Brest will also host a small maritime festival from 10–14 July to mark 400 years of the French Navy (Marine Nationale). It is always a popular and well-attended occasion, with a selection of classic vessels and tall ships adding to the spectacle. I understand that Ian Pickard and Barrie Martin are planning to take their boats across for the celebrations.

As always, I remain at the disposal of LSC fellows and am very happy to assist anyone planning to cruise in the region.
