On Saturday 2nd March and Sunday 3rd March, the RYA hosted a Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace in London. Members of the Little Ship Club volunteered to help man the stand to introduce some potential new members to the Club and talk to them about the sailing and training opportunities that we offer.
A lot of people wanted to learn more about us with many showing an interest in sailing opportunities, particularly those organised through our skippers and crew system. A number of people working in the city of London were interested in our clubhouse facilities such as meeting rooms and cabins. Many people said that they will look at our website for social activities, training and our boating programme.
We also arrived at the show with a “rules of the road” quiz, which left many people perplexed. However, it proved to be a good talking point and a way of attracting visitors to the stand.
Our next open evenings will take place on Tuesday 19th March and Tuesday 26th March. These open evenings allow potential new members to visit the Club, meet members, and find out more about the social, sailing, and training opportunities that we provide, as well as looking at the facilities such as meeting rooms and cabins that our Clubhouse offers.
