This very accessible 120 page book, though specifically written with performance sailing in mind, has much within its covers to recommend it to anyone, in any sport or other venture, who wishes to to do as well as they can.
The author, a chartered sport and exercise psychologist, takes a concise and clear trip through all the areas where mental attitude can help improve performance and offers several useful tips on how to go about things. Even dedicated “non-racers” will find many things of interest – not least how to get a crew to gel well together.The text is liberally illustrated with colour photographs and diagrams and the reader is offered a number of practical pro-formas intended to assist in putting the theory into practice.
