Next summer I’ll be on board my 50 ft ketch, Bunty, in the Ionian, Adriatic or Aegean from May to mid July and September to the end of October. I try to fill up with family and friends but often have a week on my own when I’d be happy for an LSC crew. We have 8 berths in two double and two twin bunk cabins but 6 is a sensible maximum and I often sail happily single handed. We are not a competitive boat and very happy drifting gently from restaurant to restaurant. We used the Perkins engine as little as possible and are usually happy to moor somewhere pleasant for a day or two if there is no wind. Nor am I a big fan of marinas or crowded ports- I’d rather anchor off where it is quieter, cooler and pleasanter to swim off the boat.
