Boating will change for some people at the end of the Brexit transition period. From 1st January 2021, any boaters residing, entering or leaving an EU country may be subject to different procedures and regulations.

The Little Ship Club (LSC) has been working with the RYA to host a presentation at the LSC clubhouse on boating changes after Brexit. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the presentation will now take place online; it is free and open to all.

Howard Pridding (RYA Director of External Affairs) and Stuart Carruthers (RYA Cruising Manager) will give a presentation on the Brexit End of Transition Period and how it will affect Boaters.

What difference will Brexit make to recreational boating, and what do we need to be aware of in planning to sail in the EU in 2021? What documentation will skippers and crew need when entering an EU country, and what about when returning to the UK from the EU? Will there be VAT implications from bringing a boat back to the UK? Can I still cruise the Mediterranean all summer or will there be time limits? Updates on other pertinent cruising topics may also be given during the talk. Questions can be asked via the online meeting.

Registered attendees will be emailed GoToMeeting joining instructions.

Registration is via eventbrite at www.ryabrexitforum2020.eventbrite.co.uk or simply click here.
