Our third lockdown quiz was on the theme of "Great Escapes".

In tribute to our French friends, the first set of questions was naturally about the Bastille, including some virtual fireworks to celebrate. This was followed by questions on escapes from the Tower of London; the Grest Escape from Stalag Luft III and the film; Colditz; Alcatraz; and Ronnie Biggs from HMP Wandsworth.  Other topics included Famous Last Words, Quotes and Film Lines, and finished with an arts Picture round.

One particular topic was the Lucky Escape of our own Club member and unsung hero, Lt Cdr Charles Lightoller, who was the senior surviving officer of the Titanic, and went on to rescue 127 troops at Dunkirk in his motor launch 'Sundowner'. Some of the slides are attached on the right as PDFs.

Virtual Club Nights are being held using Zoom every Tuesday from 18:30 to 20:00. Some Zoom Instructions and tips are attached as a PDF on the right.  Joining details are sent by email to members each week in the 'Latest News' bulletin.

If you do not receive the joining details then please send an email to the Chairman of the Social Committee, Benedict Ryan.
