City of London Sheep Drive, Southwark Bridge - Sun 26 Sept 2021

The City of London Sheep Drive and Livery Fair
This year, the Sheep Drive and Livery Fair will take place on Sunday, 26th September on Southwark Bridge, right next to the Little Ship Club in Three Cranes Walk.
The ceremony will be opened by TV celebrity Amanda Owen, the "Yorkshire Shepherdess", along with the Lord Mayor of London, Alderman William Russell.
This is a fascinating City event with ancient origins that involves numerous City Livery Companies and Guilds, who will hold their annual fair on the north side of the bridge. Historically any Freeman of the City was entitled to drive their sheep across London Bridge, but current traffic problems and ongoing repairs means the event has been moved. The modern event is usually attended by newly-elected Freemen and their proud families.

The Little Ship Club is open for refreshments

The Little Ship Club, with its comfortable clubhouse overlooking the River Thames, will be holding an Open Day. The clubhouse will welcome members and visiting guests for a Buffet Lunch between 12-3pm (see menu below). Sandwiches, snacks and drinks will be available throughout the day.
Bookings for the buffet lunch have closed but drinks, snacks and sandwiches will be available to all without prior booking.
All LSC Members can claim a free drink voucher from the Club Library. The voucher will be valid for one drink in the clubhouse.
Volunteering on the LSC stand
The Club has taken a stand at the Fair which will be manned by volunteers to promote the Club and Club Membership. The stand will be close to where all the action is taking place, so volunteers should get a prime view of the sheep and all the activities.
We will have the Club Library set up to promote the Club and to sign up new members. Volunteers are needed in the Library, too. Volunteers will be asked to cover a two-hour period on the Bridge or in the Library.
Please let the organiser know if you are able to assist and help show guests around the Club.
Organiser: Paul Banks
