Club Night - Getting the best from your Sails- Tuesday 20 January 2026

Lou Clayton is a very experienced British sailor from Norfolk, currently living and working as a physiotherapist, sailmaker, and skipper/race coach on the South Coast.
She volunteered on the round the world yacht 'Steinlager' in New Zealand and from that experience has become an accomplished trans ocean skipper.
She primarily sails double-handed or with crews, taking on longer offshore races such as the Round Britain and Ireland race. In 2022, she won the 45-strong double-handed fleet at the St. Malo race and was selected from eight teams to compete in the 2024 Double-Handed World Championship.
Louise is also a sailmaker and will be talking about sails from a base of real experience covering all the key things that matter so much to us all :
Common areas of damage we see as sail makers; Prevention of damage while sailing; Looking after and caring for sails: Benefits of winter service; Repair on the go
