Club Night: The restoration of Little Ship Sundowner
Established in 1962, family run Dennett Boat Builders are dedicated to the traditional methods of boat building and joinery keeping alive an age-old tradition rarely seen in today’s modern society. They will soon start work on little ship 'Sundowner'.
Commander Charles Lightoller was a prominent member of the Little Ship Club. Having been the Second Officer on the RMS Titanic, and by a lucky fluke the senior surviving officer, he later took Sundowner to the beaches of Dunkirk and saved 127 men - unaware that his second son had been rescued from the beach just 48 hours before.
