Simon Springett gives an informed and personal account of the Royal Naval Chaplaincy, based on more than 45 years in ministry and 30 years as a chaplain with the Royal Navy and Royal Navy Reserve. Ordained at a young age and commando-trained, he served alongside the Royal Marines on operations and across the fleet, supporting personnel in demanding and often high-pressure environments. A Yachtmaster Ocean, he has also skippered for youth sail-training charities and is a founder trustee of Front Line Naval Chaplains. His talk offers a rare insight into the pastoral, operational and human role of chaplaincy within the modern Royal Navy.
