Practical Weather Forecasting - 10 & 17 October 2018
This practical weather forecasting for sailors course shows how an amateur sailor produce a bespoke weather forecast.
What's covered in the weather forecasting for sailors course
The course marries weather forecasting and passage planning so yachtsman can forecast marine weather - sometines to a better standard than the professionals.
This means yachtsmen can be independent when professional resources are not available.
The practical weather forecasting for sailors course runs for four hours, spread over two weekday evenings with an opportunity for practice weather chart construction between sessions.
Included in the cost is a rich handbook of data and techniques and a unique Met. Officer’s Kit of weather charts for use at sea.
The course assumes a knowledge of meteorology to RYA Dayskipper Theory level.
If you are a bit rusty, we send you a short revision guide before the course starts.
The course is presently delivered by an experienced racing sailor and an Associate Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society.
