Training/Seamanship Rally - Sat 17 July 2021

Join us for a Training/Seamanship Rally to Lymington Harbour. This rally is aimed at recent trainees and new members wanting to get afloat.
Put the knowledge you have gained in training to good use, learn practical boat handling at close quarters, and gather tips from club skippers who will take you on their own boats - both sailing and motor. En route you can carry out exercises such as picking up a mooring buoy, anchoring, MoB etc. In the marina learn how to handle the boat under engine, and practice manoeuvres such as ferry gliding, rafting up, springing off bow and stern etc.
Don’t be shy! The Seamanship rally is not intended for expert crew - quite the reverse. The object is to put into practice a few essential skills while having a bit of fun. So come along, blow away the cobwebs, and practise those key boat-handling skills!
VHF Rally channel will be CH77. Berths have been reserved at the Dan Bran Pontoon, Lymington Harbour (Skippers to settle their own mooring fees). There will be a pontoon party for you to meet other LSC members. Dinner can be on board or we may book one of the pubs in Lymington if sufficient numbers commit (individual boats to settle their own costs).
Rally fee - free for the Skipper and First Mate/co-owner (max 2 per boat) and £10 per head for others (includes prizes and pontoon party). Skippers - please register online even if you are not paying a rally fee.
