The Rona Sailing Project is one of the oldest Sail Training organisations in the UK, established for over 50 years. In that time, they have taken over 20,000 young people from a wide variety of backgrounds to sea. Chris joined the Rona Sailing Project in 1967  'as a boy' and is now a Trustee and the chief instructor.

He is a retired Senior Customs Officer of 42 years service in which time he spent 17 years at sea as crew and then the commander of one of our Revenue Cutters.  He will explain how the project started, what it does and why sail training works to give young people greater self-confidence and a new perspective on the world.
