The Three Peaks Yacht Race and other adventures, a talk by Dr Charles Clarke
Each of The Three Peaks Yacht Races is an adventure on its own and Dr Charles Clarke has completed six of them. It is one of the oldest and most remarkable multi-sport endurance races in the world.
It draws competitors seeking adventure from all sporting backgrounds and with sailing experience from off-shore cruising to round-the-world races. Teams from sailing and sports clubs, military and companies all enter and compete on equal terms. Charles will talk about his sixth attempt in 2021 which starts at Barmouth and finishes at Fort William, with two of the five crew climbing the three highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland on the way.
Charles will also talk about his seemingly diverse passions and sailing adventures which are racing Traditional South American Fishing Boats in Southern Chile and racing high tech Model Yachts on the Round Pond in Kensington Palace Gardens with the London Model Yacht Club.
