Trafalgar Dinner 2015

Speaker: Jeremy Michell, Curator of Historic Photographs and Ship Plans at the National Maritime Museum and Commodore of Erith Yacht Club. His main interest is the 18th century navy, although his job requires more broader knowledge too.
Angle: Trafalgar is seen as a fundamentally important battle and illustrated Nelson's genius. However, does that actually stand up to scrutiny? How innovative were the tactics used? How important was the battle militarily and politically?
Brief overview of the battle's significance (based on the above) and then a more general discussion and the chance for a Q & A with him.
