Christmas decorations at the Little Ship Club on Christmas Club Night

Christmas Club Night

The Christmas Club Night will be held virtually on Zoom, this year. This will be a light-hearted and fun evening where can get in the mood for Christmas from the comfort of our own homes, or boats.   So, pour yourself a drink, warm your mince pies,  put on your Christmas jumper and join in with members from around the world. We won't mention Covid-19 - very much.

The Little Ship Club's usual annual carol service at St Michael Paternoster Royal Church and the traditional Christmas dinner in the Club will not take place this year, due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Christmas Club Night Programme

The evening will include:

  • Live music, played by talented Little Ship Club members.
  • Some familiar music and carols with (optional) audience participation.
  • A presentation by the Mission to Seafarers about their work and an appeal for donations.
  • Tales from members about sailing or staying on board at Christmas.
  • Readings, both serious and amusing.
  • Prize giving.

Get creative now and you may win one of the prizes in the following categories:

Little Ship Club fancy dress at the Folly Inn for Christmas Club Night

  • The best Christmas fancy dress outfit.
  • The best Christmas background on Zoom - the background can be live or virtual.

Mission to Seafarers

At our usual carol service we hold a collection to support the work of the Mission to Seafarers. Tonight, the Rev. Mark Lawson-Jones will joining us from the Mission to Seafarers. He will give a short presentation of their work in supporting seafarers worldwide, in what has been a particularly difficult year.

To support the Mission's work you can make a donation and Git Aid it, if eligible, by logging on to their website and clicking on the red "Donate" button on the home page.

A virtual Christmas Festival of Light and Hope

The Mission to Seafarers is holding its annual carol service as a virtual event, this year. The event takes place on Wednesday 9th December.
