Brittany update

As of Sunday evening 26 June, Lazy Life is in Lezardrieux, Aeolus is in Alderney, Silver Tide was in Cherbourg yesterday, Roshanak is stuck in Lymington, and no news yet of Willow or Mary Lunn.
Lazy Life had a very bumpy ride through the Alderney Race yesterday, Saturday 25 June. Those who know her are well aware that she has very substantial freeboard at the stern, where she carries her tender very well raised up on davits (see picture). That didn't stop a big following wave filling the tender with water, which caused one of the wire lifting strops to fail. They managed not to lose the tender and reached St Peter Port, where a jury rig was arranged to allow them to continue today. A brief report this afternoon said 'Arrived Lezardrieux 1400, lovely sail in warm sunshine' which sounds more like what the doctor ordered.
Roshanak had a problem which required her to return to the builders shortly after setting out on Friday (she's a Southerly 32), and they were hoping to leave Sunday morning, but the visibility was so poor they decided to wait another day and try again tomorrow. A tweet from Graham Broadway (follow them here) says that Aeolus, the Halberg Rassy chartered by Michael Forbes Smith, has reached Alderney, and Silver Tide got to Cherbourg yesterday after a foggy overnight passage. No news yet from Mary Lunn (follow Robin's tweets here) or Martyn Graham on Willow.
