To: All Corinthian and Little Ship Club Members

From: Hank Theuns (

The Corinthians and the Little Ship Club (LSC) have much in common. The LSC was founded in 1926 and many of its ideas were incorporated in the establishment of The Corinthians in 1934. Our respective founders shared a great love of the sea, offshore sailing, racing, cruising, boating instruction, joint experiences with like-minded boaters and contributing to the general well-being of amateur sailing. These founding values continue to be at the core of our organizations.

In 1995, a small group of LSC members were invited to be guests aboard several Corinthian boats to cruise the Chesapeake Bay. The following year, a formal invitation was extended to The Corinthians by the LSC to join in their annual summer rally on the Solent. Thus began a continuing biannual invitation to participate in each other's principal cruise event. The Corinthian's turn comes again in 2018!

The 2018 Annual Cruise, on the Chesapeake Bay with the Little Ship Club, will be held from Saturday, June 2 through Saturday, June 9. All Corinthian members are encouraged to make a special effort to participate in the 2018 Annual Cruise and to warmly welcome our LSC friends from the UK, who are equally encouraged to participate. Both memberships are familiar with the wonderful joint cruises over the past twenty years; with each cruise providing a very special experience for all participants. The 2018 cruise promises to build on that tradition with special tours of the Naval Academy and the National Aquarium along with idyllic sailing and lovely anchorages on the Chesapeake Bay.

On behalf of the 2018 Annual Cruise Committee, I request all addressees provide their input by completing the following interest survey (Survey - 2018 Chesapeake Annual Cruise) prior to January 31, 2017. I thank you in advance, knowing we all share in our enthusiasm for this extraordinary event and in our beloved organizations.
