For all those new to helping on our boat show stand, and a handy reminder for the rest of us, here's what we expect you to do when manning the stand.

Experience shows that this is the best way of engaging and interesting people in our great Club.

You should:

  • Invite visitors onto the stand.

  • Get visitors engaged in a conversation and find out about

their boating/sailing experience

the boats they skipper or crew

where they sail, where they live or work,

what they are looking for at the boat show

their possible interest in the Club.

  • Tell potential new members (PNMs) about the club and stress the selling points that might appeal/apply to them.

  • Invite potential new members to the clubhouse to see the facilities and to hear more about the club’s activities, to meet members and to join the Club.

  • Promote special offers for training and membership.

  • Ask potential new members to give their contact details so that we can invite them to a New Member evening at the clubhouse.

  • Input their names, complete addresses and e-mail addresses in a database and indicate which of the New Members evenings they wish to attend.

  • Meet and greet visiting members, fellow sailors from partner clubs and LSC friends.

Easy peasey!
