5 peaks team

Major General Keith Cima, an honorary member of the Club, is Governor of the Tower of London and also a volunteer crewman at Tower Lifeboat station.  But that's not enough to keep him busy it seems, as he's running the London Marathon to raise money for a new lifeboat.

He's also in a team to do the 5 peaks of UK and Eire in less than 48 hours, for the same cause.  You can read more about his fundraising at his Just-giving webpage, click here.

The London RNLI stations have been the busiest operational boats in the RNLI fleet, launching 4105 times, rescuing 1464 people and saving 284 lives.  The E Class boats are now coming to the end of their service life and need replacement this year, at a cost of £380,000 each.

TowerKeith became Governor of the Tower of London in October 2006, responsible for the overall running of the Tower, including the Yeoman Body, the Jewel House and the commercial, administrative and official affairs of this Royal Palace and Fortress.  This follows a highly successful army career, incluiding a number of senior posts including Director Engineer Services, Director of Manning, and Chief of Staff to the Adjutant General.

In the Little Ship Club we have a very close link to the Thames, so let's do as much as we can, even in these difficult times, to support Keith's efforts in this worthy cause.
