New visitor marina in Plymouth

A new 30-berth marina has opened in Royal William Yard in Plymouth. The former naval victualling yard, designed by Sir John Rennie in 1835 has been redeveloped with apartments, offices, retail and leisure facilities, and offers berths for visiting boats up to 3 months.

On the peninsular opposite the Mayflower marina, the carefully redeveloped listed buildings provide a fascinating historic setting. The yard remained the navy's stores until the 1990s, and the recent development has been undertaken by Urban Splash taking great care and retaining many original materials.
