Reg White, one of Britain’s past Olympic Tornado Gold medallists, has died whilst racing his Brightlingsea One-Design.  

Born in 1935, reg died May 27th. Along with John Osborn, Reg won his gold medal at the 1976 Montreal Olympic games and went on to hold World titles in the Tornado in ‘76 and ’79.  

Reg worked with Terry Pearce and designer Rodney March, to help get the Tornado class to the Olympics. Founding Sailcraft, which built some of the finest Tornados, he continued to have a huge influence on modern catamaran design from cruisers to high performance craft.
