Sailability donation and regatta launch

The RYA's charity RYA Sailability received a cheque from Round Britain Solo sailor 17 year old Tom Webb, and launched its fundraising regatta at the Tullet Prebon London Boat Show.
Tom presented RYA Sailability with a cheque for £1300 which he raised by completing his solo challenge. Inspired by the young disabled people he met through the Even Keel Project and his local Sailability centre at Langstone Sailing Club, Tom set off from Chichester on 7 July 2011 and completed the voyage after 39 stops on 3 September 2011 covering 1700 nautical miles.
Sailability launched the 2012 RYA Sailability Sunsail Regatta. The all-inclusive two-day sailing event is open to corporate and private teams as well as individuals. Highlights of the regatta include two days racing and cruising on the Sunsail F40 Fleet and the opportunity to visit and dine at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes.
Every boat taking part contributes directly to helping RYA Sailability groups What better way to spend two days than racing out on the famous waters of the Solent whilst raising money for a life-changing charity” said Sailability Trustee Robyn Griffith-Jones.
