Spring Ball - A great evening, shame about the support
The Club's Spring Ball was held on the evening of 16th April with the theme of St George. Members were entertained by Diamond who provided wonderful music until late in the night.
I congratulate Pat Dittner and her Social Committee team for a hugely enjoyable night. However, it is a great disappointment that so few members felt able to support the event. Club members were almost outnumbered by guests from the Lloyds Yacht Club.
Given the fact that the event was well promoted I find the lack of support astonishing. The event will have lost money, not a lot, but it should have made money. We will no doubt be asked the usual questions at the next AGM about the Club's deficit - well here is part of your answer.
Support your committee or the Club will slowly die. If this is not the sort of event that you want then tell us but don't just sit pasively by and let us waste time and money organising events that you will not support.
