Once again LSC members are getting ready for our annual recruiting campaign from 7 -16 January 2011. This will be at the Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show at Excel, Docklands. We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing and young at heart members to help us find more potential new members (PNM) with an interest in boating.

The Club’s membership is constantly changing. New members are joining for training, a special sailing experience in good company, a stylish Clubhouse in the heart of the City or just to socialise with like minded people. At the same time existing members are leaving as London is a busy city with a big fluctuation in inhabitants, who have changing priorities and various financial pressures.

We are therefore asking you to help us increase the number of members by promoting the club at the forthcoming London Boat Show. We would like to encourage particularly members who joined the club recently or as a result of a previous London boat show.

At this stage we are looking for volunteers for a four hour watch (approximately) during the boat show days. For every half day of voluntary work we offer a free ticket to visit the boat show for the rest of that day. Please sign in directly on the board in the clubhouse or send an e-mail to recruitment2011@littleshipclub.co.uk.

There are also two new members’ evenings to follow up with people who show interest. We need people to introduce them to the Club and encourage them to join - if you can help, please email Silke Zimmermann. Dates are 18 January with a talk by Richard Gribbin on his circumnavigation, and 25 January with Rodney Pell talking about Sheemaun.
