Three generous members of the Club raised nearly £700 for charity and won places aboard Sheemaun in the Parade of Sail of the Jubilee Pageant on Sunday 3 June 2012. A 'Silent Auction' was held and the winners – Polly Coburn, Mike Gill and Wolf Raymer - were announced at the Club supper on Tuesday 28 February.

The Auction was organised in aid of Help for Heroes, the charity set up to assist wounded service personnel involved in current conflicts.

In preparation for the big day, skipper Rodney Pell says a French film crew are arriving this weekend and he is busy scrubbing the decks to remove the winter grime and autumn green algae. Rodney said: "The producer selected Sheemaun from teh list of vessels taking part in the pageant. I have explained that old wooden boats never look their best after a long damp Autumn and then a wet, cold and snowy winter. But they don't seem to mind."

As for the pageant itself, he added: "Now to pray for good weather and a well-organised water taxi arrangement."

The Club has now opened booking for a special lunch on the day. Tickets are restricted to three per member so book yours online now! (members only, you will need to be logged in to access this page)
