This is your Committee and their roles

Commodore - David Roache
As Commodore my responsibility is the overall running of the sailing club and chair of the club committee meetings. All sub-committees report to me via the club committee. My aim is to ensure that the club is financially viable and to this end I hope to achieve a membership of 1500 by 2015.
Here is a list of members of the club committee with details of each member's responsibilities.
Vice Commodore (South Coast) - Iain Muspratt
As Vice Commodore for South Coast my responsibilities include deputising for the Commodore when required; supporting the development of South Coast Sailing Activities (including attending as many rallies as possible); directing and maximising with the Commercial Committee most of the Commercial Activities of the Club (Restaurant and Bar, Venue Hire and Cabin Hire); supporting the new House Officers in creating premises and equipment maintenance programmes and managing the relationship with City Livery Club (CLC) section together with the President of CLC. I also help on East Coast matters whilst the position of East Coast Vice Commodore is vacant.
My overall objective is to be available to members to help further the success of LSC and build upon its uniqueness and reputation
Rear Commodore (Training) - Peter Newbury
My responsibilities as Rear Commodore Training are simply to deliver the training required by members. Currently this means all the RYA Shorebased courses plus a couple of our own. I am also officially the Principal of the RYA Training Centre.
Rear Commodore (Sail & Power) - Robin Whaite
The Rear Commodore Sail & Power is responsible for all aspects of sailing in the club (for both sailing boats and motor yachts). This includes responsibility for the Skippers & Crew team, which helps to get more members and boats out on the water, and for setting the programme of rallies and other events on the water (e.g. fast cruises, and events for dinghies). The Hon Librarian and HPO Liaison Officer report to RCSP.
Rear Commodore (Membership) - Julie Coleclough
As Rear Commodore Membership, my responsibilities are to recruit new members and encourage the retention of existing members.
Aided by a very competent crew - the Membership Committee - we organise recruitment events, promote the club and support new members. These activities can range from exhibiting at the London Boat show and sponsoring sailing events to developing our
association with other sailing clubs such as Lloyds Yacht Club and Antigua Yacht Club. Also, we scan the horizon to spot good deals - such as quality clothing and discounts on yacht charters - to offer to our members.
Hon. Treasurer - Don Shackley
As Treasurer I've two main objectives
a) to move from an annual one-off budgeting and accounting regime to a more detailed monthly reporting of actual results against budgets so that the Committee and the membership as a whole have a better appreciation of where we are at financially and where we are going
b) to make sure we consider the financial consequences of decisions so that we focus our limited resources where they can deliver the most benefits to members and ensure that the Club remains viable in the long term.
Hon. Solicitor - Mark Turvey
I am the Club's Hon Solicitor. I advise on legal aspects of the Club's sailing, social, commercial and employment activities, including the Club's commercial contracts, licences, lease, employment contracts, disclaimer and Club Rules. I also act as Company Secretary of Little Ship Club Limited.

I liaise with our Pest Controller to ensure that we are free of vermin (Health & Safety requirement). I Ensure all Fire Extinguishers are in good order. Arrange in-depth kitchen clean (H & S requirement).
