Tribute to Her Majesty the Queen
It is with great sadness that we learnt of the news of the death of Her Majesty the Queen yesterday and the Little Ship Club joins the nation in mourning the loss of our Queen. As one of the worlds greatest leaders she will be sorely missed at home and abroad for her lifelong service and sense of duty. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family during this difficult time.
To mark this incredible moment in our history in the traditional way we are flying our official flag at half mast at the clubhouse and urge our members to do the same with their ensigns during this period of national mourning. Each of us are affected differently by the news and may want to mourn her passing in their own way.
The clubhouse will remain open except for the day of the State Funeral and members are encouraged to attend the club to sign a book of condolences, share remembrances and reflection. The scheduled club nights on Tuesdays will be low key with notices preceded by a moment of silence. Other future events will be reviewed in the light of the public programme of mourning.
Long Live the King.
