Cowes Local Notice to Mariners No. 29(T) of 2011

Extreme Sailing Series at Cowes Week 2011: Saturday, 6 - Friday, 12 August

(This notice supersedes LNTM 23(T) of 2011 which is hereby cancelled)

Notice is hereby given that the Extreme Sailing Series will take place as part of the Cowes Week Regatta between Saturday, 6 and Friday, 12 August.

Between the Saturday, 6 and Tuesday, 9 racing will take place in a sanitised zone marked with 2-4 orange inflatable pillar buoys and a spherical special mark as shown on the attached chartlet available on the pdf download.

The sanitised zone will be in force between the following times only:

Saturday, 6 August to Tuesday, 12 August from 1500 onwards.

Both Cowes Week competitors and non-competitors are not to enter the exclusion zone after 1500. The perimeters of the exclusion zone will be patrolled by four safety ribs, all mariners are strongly advised to take head of this notice and follow the instructions of the safety ribs.

Between Wednesday, 10 and Friday, 12:

Racing will take place at locations agreed with the Cowes Week race officers, these locations will be chosen so as to de-conflict with the Cowes Week classes and may include racing off Egypt Point as depicted in the attached chartlet although the sanitised zone will not be in force.
