Latest Report.
Sailed single-handed from St.Martin to Tortola overnight, managed to find and hit an uncharted rock! Small damage to bow, and scrapes down the port side. Moody build them tough.
Hauled out at Tortola Yacht Services, Road Town Harbour,Tortola. Had repairs done to the hull and a new bearing fitted to the prop shaft P bracket. Total cost US$1,027. Good value and excellent workmanship. Run by Julian from Somerset.
Joined by Shelley Lunt from Maine to crew to the USA. Left Tortola, had a look at the American Virgin Islands, very commercial and touristy, pressed on to Grand Turk. Grand sail 449 miles at an average speed of 6.4 knots with a top of 8 knots in winds varying from 8 to 23 knots, mainly around 12 knots; took 3 days total.
Arrived Grand Turk last Friday 21st May, idyllic place with delightful people, leaving today for Savannah Georgia, about 1,000 miles. Then on up the USA east coast to Annapolis and the Corinthians rally in Maine.
Look forward to seeing some of you there.
Regards,
Malcolm
