Charts and regulations Zeeland 2012

Skippers should ensure that they have the correct charts for the entire cruise and that they are aware of the national regulations for the waters that they will be sailing in. The Little Ship Club cannot take any responsibility for skippers who do not adhere to local regulations. Nothwithstanding this, here are some pointers to help you on your way.
Jonathan Hague, stalwart of the Holland Rally, has done some research on suitable charts for the cruising area we will be visiting. Here are his suggestions. The Dutch charts are updated every March so it would be well to wait if you are buying fresh.
The links take you to Marine Chandlery’s site which is the lowest price that Jonathan has found so far for these charts. If you do better, let us know.
A passage chart will be required for the southern North Sea, Imray C30 (Harwich to Hoek van Holland and Dover Strait) is ideal.
From Vliisingen onwards the following charts from the Dutch 1800 series will be required:
Dutch Chart 1803 Wester Schelde: Vlissingen to Antwerpen En Kanaal Van Terneuzen Naar
Dutch Chart 1805 Oosterschelde: Veerse Meer En Gravelingenmeer
For those that would like a more detailed chart of the coast from Oostende eastwards this chart may also be of use:
Dutch Chart 1801 Noordzeekust: Oostende Tot Den Helder
Advice and regulations
We’ve also had a look at the advice given by the RYA to their members on boating in Belgium and Netherlands, which you can find here (Belgium) (Netherlands) (you will need to be an RYA member and log in or register to see it). LSC members should review this carefully as soon as they can. Particular items to look for are the advice on carrying red diesel, waste water, and the documents and equipment which must be available on board. There is also information on radio licences and set-up that you will need to study.
