After a grueling 52-hour selection process, seven British sailors from the 16 participating in the Artemis Offshore Academy Selection Trials have now been recruited to join the Development Squad. They are Ollie Bond (31, Hamble), Henry Bomby (20, Kingswear), Aaron Cooper (22, Southampton), Robert Gullan (25, Southampton), Lizzy Foreman (21, Worcester Park), Robin Elsey (19, Turo), Sam Matson (20, Ottery St Mary).

The Mediterranean, once again, provides the backdrop to the Extreme Sailing Series 2011 as the circuit rolls into Nice, France, starting on Wednesday, 28 September and running until Sunday, 2 October. Ben Ainslie continues in his role as skipper/helm pf Oman Air

ORACLE Racing Spithill won the Plymouth Fleet Racing Championship after an action-packed final day of the America’s Cup World Series in south-west England. James Spithill made amends for a lackluster Match Race Championship with an emphatic victory in today’s winner-takes-all race in the fleet racing. (video added)

“It’s nice to win the match racing here after coming second in the last one,” Barker said after the sweeping victory. “It’s pretty cool to see this many people up on The Hoe. Hopefully we’re putting on a good show, and now we’ll get ready to do it all again tomorrow. It would be nice to get the double. It’s a winner-takes-all race and anything can happen, as you saw today.”

For the second day running, Artemis Racing won two of the three heats at the Plymouth Match Racing Championship.

With a second place to add to their two victories on Thursday, Terry Hutchinson’s team dominated the seeding fleet race phase of the Match Racing Championships.

Lighter breezes brought more players to the front of the fleet on day one of the Plymouth Match Racing Championship, with Artemis Racing winning two of today’s three fleet races. With the sun beaming down on Plymouth Sound, the crowd on the Hoe was treated to a day of upsets, passing moves, and come-from-behind wins on the waters below.

Probably GB's most significant regatta this year will start Sptember 10 in one of England's most historic and celebrated maritime ports, Plymouth. The America's Cup World Series will be staged in front of crowds on the world-famous Plymouth Hoe in the now familiar AC45 catamarans. The regatta promises plenty of action.

As they prepare for the second America's Cup World Series event that kicks off in Plymouth this weekend, so Torbjorn Tornqvist's Swedish flagged Artemis Racing team have announced their crew line-up. Sailing with skipper Terry Hutchinson (USA), wing trimmer Sean Clarkson (NZL), trimmer Morgan Trubovich (NZL) and bowman Andy Fethers (AUS) will be joined by British tactician Iain Percy.
