Last night was a prime opportunity for the Skippers & Crew system to work flat out, with the Club full to bursting to hear Michael Buerk (high hopes amply justified).   Your S&C Rep for the evening, Elizabeth Forbes, is pleased to report successful S&C matches having been made (or at least initiated). There are new additions to the crew listOne long-standing member, Mike Lock, finally bit the bullet and signed himself on under 'crew looking for a berth'.  Mike conjured some fantastic sailing for Polly Flinders, in those distant days when I was a skipper ...

And I saw our webpage editor Charles Whittam getting someone else sorted on the website, too.

There were several new flyers for this season's rallies on display in Reception, so I hope lots of you grabbed one for whatever rally took your fancy and will follow up by registering interest on this website.  (If you weren't there, check on the relevant rally pages to see if a flyer is now available.)

Certainly, my own 'Eastward (or of course Westward) Ho! Rally (12-13 June) benefited from a constructive introduction of one signed-up skipper, Jonathan Thompson (Windhammer), to two Littlehampton skippers, enabling the sharing of some useful opint re getting in and out of that soon-to-be-popular sailing destination.

And this morning, Lo! Ian Barclay who has been 'badgering' me to get him a berth on this rally (do remind us, Ian, why it is you're determined to join us -  it might encourage others), lets me in on his exchange, signing up to crew to the rally with Mike Lakey - who, you may remember from the S&C evening, is planning to call in on his way round our islands in his new boat, Melody.

And I'm very pleased to welcome Sylvia Chesters and Tim Edwards to the ranks of 'signed up', too: don't worry, I'll get you there!

So, all in all, I think a Good Evening for S&C, demonstrating the many benefits for skippers and crew of coming to Club Nights.  Many thanks to all - keep in touch!
